Comedy=Tragedy+Time+Toyota.

(click ad, via) Too soon? The Japanese automaker's "sudden-acceleration" problem has caused 30+ deaths so far. Dansk Port Teknik is a garage door company in Thorsager, Denmark. The Copenhagen office of worldwide mega ad agency JWT thought that these two things should be merged into a little ad award-bait print execution. It probably ran once in a local free car seller.

30 deaths in 10 years, with most of those only tangentially related to an accelerator defect? How about those 21,000-plus dead in Toyotas in the same period from non-accelerator-related causes?
Fuck cars and the illusion of auto-related safety, is what I'm saying here, and fuck the tender sensibilities of their apologists. And how about that woman who was killed by a killer whale? What's up with that, anyway?

I also blame the Japanese for the Sea World death——it was obviously revenge for their brutal whaling practices.
